Students who minor in French explore not only the language, but also the literature and culture of France. The university's French program is proficiency-based. Students learn practical language skills as they progress through each level of proficiency. Our placement program ensures that students are placed in the proper class to match their skill level.

French classes are small, which allows for more personal attention and more class time for student speaking and participation. Averett faculty have led study abroad classes in Europe and Latin America.
