Title: Instructor

Position Description/Application Process
The Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Division of Averett University seeks an experienced instructor to teach undergraduate and graduate level business courses in Research & Statistics, Operations Management, Finance, and Accounting. This is a tenure-track position at a level commensurate with the experience and credentials of the successful candidate. It is a 12 month position with a contract teaching load of 80 workshops per year, each workshop held on weekday evenings from 6-10PM, with varying numbers of workshops during the week dependent on the courses being instructed.

Qualifications include:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in business administration, with strengths in the content areas offered by GPS in addition to at least 10 years experience in business environments. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership potential, an interest in new course and program development, and experience teaching in accelerated and/or distance learning degree programs for adult learners. Teaching location requirements for this position are primarily in the Central Virginia Area of the GPS program located in Richmond, but will involve travel since this position also provides instruction for graduate and undergraduate students at the Quantico Education Center on the USMC Base at Quantico, Virginia, and at other learning center locations such as Charlottesville, Virginia if needed, for the disciplines noted above.

Location: Richmond or Tidewater

Position Description/Application Process
The Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Division of Averett University seeks an experienced educator to teach graduate level courses in curriculum and instruction, education administration, special education and/or early childhood education. This is a tenure-track position at a level commensurate with the experience and credentials of the successful candidate. It is a 12 month position with a 9 course/year teaching load.

Qualifications include:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in education with strengths in the content areas offered by GPS and extensive experience in early childhood and/or K-12 education. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership potential, an interest in new course and program development, experience teaching in accelerated and/or distance learning degree programs, and the ability to travel to at least two of the Averett University regional campuses.
