Arriving on Campus:
Students living on campus and students living off campus will arrive for New Student Orientation and the fall semester at different times. Information about directions and parking can be found below.

Football Players:

Many of our athletes in fall sports arrive before other students.  Football players (both residential and those living off-campus) will check-in on Wednesday, August 13.  You will receive additional information about that day from the coaching staff.

Other Fall Athletes:

Other athletes in fall sports may be arriving early for the fall semester.  Please watch for information about your arrival from your coach.

Residential Transfer Students (Living on Campus):

Transfer students living on campus can move into the residence halls on Wednesday, August 20.  Students should check-in with the Residence Life Office (Davenport Hall) between 10:00am - 3:00pm.  Once you arrive, you will receive your keys and will have the day to unpack and get settled.  Orientation for new students will take place on Thursday, August 21.  A tentative schedule is included in the mailings sent this summer and is available on this site.

Off-Campus Transfer Students

Those transfer students living off-campus will check-in for Transfer Orientation on Thursday, August 21 in Blount Chapel.  Students should arrive between 8:00am - 8:30am and should plan to remain with us the entire day.  A tentative schedule is included in the mailings sent this summer and is available on this site.

Residential Students (Living On Campus)

On-campus students can move into the residence halls on Friday, August 22 between 9:30am - 4:00pm.  Once you arrive, you will receive informaiton about New Student Orientation.  Check-in will be on the 2nd floor of the Student Center.  We ask that students that need to meet with offices (Financial Aid, Student Accounts, etc.) while here please come after 1:00pm.  University offices will be temporarily set up in the check-in area for the afternoon.  You will have the day to unpack and get settled in before begining New Student Orientation with dinner at 5:00pm that evening.  You will recieve a complete schedule once you arrive.

Off-Campus Students

Students living off-campus will need to check-in on Friday, August 22 between 9:30am - 4:00pm on the 2nd floor of the Student Center.  You will be checking in with all other students that day.  Once you check-in, you will not need to remain on campus for the afternoon.  Your first event will be dinner that evening at 5:00pm, followed by several sessions Friday evening.  You should plan to be with us Friday evening, all day Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and a portion of the day Monday.

Parking:
Parking is available in designated lots on campus and throughout the residential areas of campus except where signs are posted as “Parking By permit Only.” These are spaces designated for residents of Danville. All students will get a parking permit for their cars during Orientation that will be used once the semester officially begins.
